what do you have as far as performance parts? I/H/E etc. what are your goals for the vehicle (hp/tq). there are several tuning options such as hondata, crome, ectune, neptune that you can use. but lets start with the answers to first two questions and we'll see where it goes from there!

Well your going to need to find a OBD-1 P28 or P72 ECU first as they are the only ones that be chipped. You'll need a OBD-1 to OBD-2 conversion harness as well.

Does the car have 4WS? If so then I think you are stuck with a piggyback like an AEM F/IC, that's if you want to keep the 4WS.

well, so far I just have a cai, 421 headers, and a 2.25 straight through cat back.
im not looking for massive numbers for the moment, mostly because i can't deside between heading towards n/a tuning or fi (both look complicated), but this is something i want to do much later, hoping to try and do the cams sometime next year. but again i have to choose one way or the other... ( as far as i know that is)
i'll be happy with anything above 230hp. but i still want it to be a smooth take off thats still fairly quick.

some people so far have told me i might be better of leaving the stock ecu for what im looking for? ? ?

yes i'd really like to keep the 4ws it helps alot when your lost in town lol

Same boat as someone with an SH wanting to keep their ATTS then, at least as far as I know. Honda, etc. would mean disabling the 4WS, so the best you can do is an AEM F/IC or a GReddy e-manage Ultimate.

yeah, i agree, you cannot use your stock ecu with hondata. meaning that you cant use hondata and 4ws. the greddy/aem versions are a bit more expensive but may work and allow you to keep your 4ws
