h22a4 head

hi, my engine valve got messed up and oil are leaking out of the head. I was just wondering where I can get a good deal on my h22a4 head for 97 prelude? I looked up on craigslist but it rarely one. What other h22 head I can put it in or does it have to be h22a4 head? Can I just change the engine valve instead of the whole head unit?

Any comment or suggestion are greatly appreciated...

I've got an H22A4 head you can have for $150 plus shipping, but it makes clicking noises at idle from 1500 to 2100 rpms for some odd reason... I never figured it out but if you can, you'd have a head with less than 15,000 miles that when it got refreshed it had new cams, springs and retainers (all OEM) installed as well as Supertech Stainless Valves and bronze valve guides as well as a very mild port and polish.

It doesn't loose oil though haha. I'll throw in a VTEC solenoid too.

I don't think I will sell you the head I have. It has a problem with it that nobody's been able to diagnose or fix and to be quite honest, I would only be selling you a lemon. It worked for the time being for me, but that's it. Sorry if I strung ya along, but I wouldn't feel right selling it and if I sold it for real cheap then I'd be losing out on something I could repair later on and sell for regular price.

tooyoung, the base and SH haeds are interchangeable. what exactly is wrong with the current head? just the valve? pull the head off and take it to a machine shop. Replace the valve then replace all of the valve guides and put it back on.

98auto, i bought this car like 6 months ago and this guys told me that he or someone did the timing belt wrong and the head valve got bent. Now there's smoke coming out of the exhaust and oil leaking out of the head. I need to get it change for inspection in Maryland. Do you know how much or estimate would is cost to take it to the shop for the fix? Or should I get a differ head??

You can have it fixed for less, most likely. swapping heads depends on how much time you have to complete said work.
