h22a4 geting gas and spark no start help

well i have a 98 lude i just droped a new h22a4 in old one broke a rod but anyways im geting gas and spark have good fuel presure good comprosion but car wont start sputres starts for a sec or two then dies back out but thers a kick i have gotin it start like three times but ran like **** i couldnt rev over 3000 rpm but once i turned it of back to sputters lol and also the few times i got it to start i had to use starting fluid and the injectors are firing have made sure everything that it needs to run works but no luck still wont start tear tear have meesed with everything i can think of im out of ideas im so lost and this is the first time in 10 years i have never been able to get a car to start so im mad at myself but im lost need and ideas or help and also have made sure timing is right like 5 times

CEL light on? You may have crushed or broken a sensor during the swap.

yes its on but dont have tools to run a dig took it to da shop today i gave up on it lol mybee they can tell me somthing i missed but i would still like to hear some ideas

o and yes i did break the knock sensor but that was it but it still wouldnt be that to not let it start but i replaced it with an old one

Broken knock sensor puts the ECU in limp mode, limiting you to about 3000rpm and generally making the car run like sh!t....

Also, the only tool you need to pull the CEL code is a paperclip.

ive heard that a broken knock sensor would make your ecu go into 'limp mode' also and your car will run like a pile of bullsh*t. its expensive but you better replace it even if its not the reason your car wont start because its most likely the reason it ran like sh*t when you actually did get it started.

I would check the spark plug wire and make sure they are in the correct order.

update

so i replaced knock sensor with new one but still not starting i messed with it some more it seems the injectors fire fine when off the fuel rail but i put them back on and they quit like as if there grounding out any help please
