Manual Tensioner Conversion Kit for H22A Series Engines :: Timing Belt Tensioner :: Belts :: Import Replacement Parts

manual tensioner parts. lists the belt. use the manual tensioner from the old engine if it has one. auto tensioner is crap.

here's the how to do the manual tensioner H22 auto tensioner to manual tensioner conversion

well the oil pan, i used the usdm oil pan but i replaced the seal at the rear of it, it was a $6 part so well worth it. If you are using the obd2 ecu then swap the intake mani the dizzy and i would recomend buying a new oil pump as then you wont have to worry about it again, but if cash is tight then reuse. Also since you are gonna have the engine out replace the fuel filter and go over your bay once or twice to make sure everything is cleaned up and then that way you will notice if your leaking oil or anything like that. Also it is wise to go to the delaership and review what parts you have and what you may need. If you can afford it then try and replace the mounts also. Dont be afraid to ask questions, it is better to ask then to destroy your engine.

i will look through all my reciepts and try and find you the part numbers for those parts man. Also, look on your head. right above where the exhaust manifold attaches and check your date clock, it is those three circle things with arrows in them. Go into honda and find out when and where it was made. Just to make sure it is what the people who sold you say it is.

ok so i finally started my engine swap and i did check the stamps above the ex manifold and it was manufactured in 96 so i think the engine came out of a 97 prelude. my question is, if my prelude has the h22a4 with the auto tiptronic tranny and im swapping for the h22a with the auto tiptronic trans would i still have to swap my oil pan. i also bought the complete auto to manual tensioner conversion but i hear a lot of people have been having problems with this conversion. should i do it or not. what can i do to make this conversion go smoother.

The oil pan should be fine, the real problem that i can see is if you struggle to get the tensioner conversioon done. It should be a basic swap for you to do, take off thge manifolds and switch them, switch the dizzy and the oil pump and the pulleys and you should be good to go, you have wrote previously that you have the seals and stuff so i dont think you will have anyproblems man. I hope when you sell this auto you can get your money back from it. Good luck man

Try and sell it still though and keep the reciepts so you can prove it has new motor and trans and what not. List it in as many places you can and just see what kind of offers you get on it.

did the white smoke go away after a few miles? Does the white smoke reapear on startup all the time? Does the car smoke at high rpm? If so what is the color? What kind of oil are you using and what kind of gas(i hope its premium at 94 octane or higher)? Oh yeah how thick was the white smoke after you started it up and how long did the engine produce the smoke for?

so the engine swap is done. no smoke and runs like a champ but there is alway one small problem. when its in P and N it makes a weird noise just like the one in this video. YouTube - 5th gen prelude tranny noise Listen close and you'll hear the noise in P and N but when he shifts to D the sound goes away. anyone have an idea of what it could be?
