Actually, the previous Accord Type R has an F20 motor. I'm not sure about the H22A7 or not. My buddy bought this motor for his Civic EX swap. THe layout between the F20 and the H22 are pretty similar. The F20 has a mild P&P, LSD, and 212 hp.

The H22A1 is the USDM (and others) OBD1 H22 motor. The Type S, S spec, and "JDM" H22's are all H22A's (no number at the end). The H22A1 is not and never has been a "j spec" motor.
The F20C1 is the S2000 motor. The F20B was in the Accord. The F20C was the next evolution of the F20B. The F20B, F22, and H22 all share a lot of common technology, I believe the H series was derived directly from the F.
Before anyone asks, the F20C shares NOTHING with the older F20B or the H series.

I think you are wrong dude, the auto tranny prelude 97-01 had 195 HP the 5 speed manual has 200 hp.
Originally posted by Ruchmate He's right, 99+ Ludes gained an advertised 5hp for both the autos from 190 to 195 and the manuals from 195 to 200.
Its still the same motor. I doubt anything was changed either, just the advertising i think....
i don't think its advertisement. i think there is a difference in between. if its advertisement, auto tranny lude would make more money to honda right? then why did they advertise hp number lower than the manual? since manual is not a hot seller anyway, and not as profitable as the auto.

No, what Honda was advertising is an overall gain in HP not the difference between the manual and auto.
