H22A Engine Lag %^$@#%!

I used to be on this site alot when I first bought my car. But the last few years I haven't had the funds to even fix my car (b/c an education is really supposed to cost $20,000 a semester right?). Either way, my engine has been lagging for the past 6 or so months now. Nothing serious has gone wrong, but there is alot of engine lag, especially in first gear or when the A/C is full blast. I have a V-AFC, which was replaced after it was stolen out of my car. I had my engine replaced in Florida w/ 55,000 miles because I hydro-locked my car during a flood. Ever since the engine replacement in Florida, my car has had some serious lag. My thoughts are that there is a fuel cut-off somewhere and it has something to do with the CPU. I've taken it to all of my mechanic friends and they all have different opinions. There's no way I'm going to dealership so they can charge me $5000000 for a diagnostics test to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Has anyone ever experienced this problem or have any idea what could be causing my engine to lag so bad I spill everything in my car?

ENGINE LAG IS A TERRIBLE THING.
PLEASE HELP.

Well tell us all more about the lag- what does the car do, any thing spectacular (like crazy engine not wanting to rev noises) or is it just totally weak and slow when revving nice and high like the Hondas should rev.
If its weak and slow, well change your oil!!!!
Make sure there is 5w 30 in it, and enough and not too much of it, this all makes a difference.
Change you fuel filter and spark plugs and plugs and wires. Don’t skimp on the parts! Just get the ngk stuff, and the freaking blue wires.
Do your ignition coil, I grabbed a blaster ss coil for less than a factory replacement, and then we bent amount for it and it loods good, and seems to run better than before it didn’t have it.
Get a value adjustment. If its still laggy, and poopy, then all I can say from experience is-good luck with that car sir.

What are your spark plugs like? How old are they? Have you pulled the codes yet? If not make up a jumper wire and report back what you find. Don't ask me how to make the jumper and check codes. Search. The answer is on this site in multiple threads. Compresion numbers? How long has it been since you did a valve adjustment? Checked for vacuum leaks?

diagnostics from honda are about $60, or you can do it your self like paulyg said.

I don't have the first idea of what this means.

Can you explain using specifics?

You just described my whole universe. Private schools are a money vacuum.
