H22 Valve Cover Stud Torque Value?

Hi Everyone,

I can seem to find what the torque spec is for the studs that the Valve Cover nuts attach to.

I stripped a couple of the nuts that hold the valve cover in place.

I've searched the Honda shop manual, and they are magically appear or disappear in the diagrams, and no reference to them anywhere.

I've done a few searches on valve cover bolt torque or valve cover stud torque, but alas, no info.

Thanks!
John

I believe the studs are only 9 lb-ft and the nut is 7 lb-ft

Per the Helms manual - 8.7 ft lbs for the nuts, in 2 or 3 steps - don't see anything for the studs, use Loctite 262.

Thanks - I basically guessed last night when putting the studs in.
I gauged the difficulty loosing the studs that I needed to replace and checked the threads for any sort of Locktite like material (none there).
I then tightened them to 8 ft/lbs, checked out the difficulty loosing them, then 9, then settled on 10 being reasonable.
(the threw my toolkit in the trunk just in case I was way off).

Thanks for the advice though,

John

so is this about the same for the h23. I've been looking through the helms manual and can't find an exact torque spec. I'm gonna continue looking though.
