but the titanium retaners get worn out more quickly than steel, but I might take your advice on the Skunks. The flatfaced valves just gian a higher compression ratio correct?
by the way my fkin I button on the keyboard doesnt work well so sorry guys.

Generally a titanium retainer is 2 to 3 times lighter then then the stock steel retainer. This leads to quicker revs, the ability to run higher R's, and being safer as they are stronger than the stock retainers. Anytime you can reduce the mass of the valve side of the valvetrain with retainers, locs, springs or valves the engine will almost always rev higher and cleaner

from skunk2's site

"Each High-Compression Pro Series Valve features a semi-flat-face design for reduced chamber volume (1.5cc or more), which results in compression gains between 0.3-0.5 points. All Pro Series Valves feature hardened tips that resist deformation and galling that’s often associated with aggressive, high-lift camshafts. Other valves may appear similar, but only Pro Series Valves feature specially designed valve head profiles to optimize airflow."

Type S valve springs loose

Hey typeT and all, i just got my type s springs in the mail, and they are really easy to compress by hand, not SUPER easy but easy enough that it's making me concerned. Are the h22 valve springs pretty easy to compress by hand? In other words, my springs seem kind of worn out or is that normal since there are technically two springs together for resistance? it seems like a cam lobe would tear through it and I would be floating my valve train at idle.
Thank you all for your help

ps happy late christmas and new year to you all, did you guys get any gifts for your rides? new mods? lmk

well, atleast my skunk2 tuner valve springs are pretty hard to compress by hand, or you can use really force there to make them compress at all

doesnt sound or look good for you man, sorry

it would be always best choice to get same manufacturers valvetrain what your cams is. in that way youre sure that theyre compatible with each others

It's highly unlikely that the springs in the red top engines are nearly as strong as something from a performance oriented aftermarket company, you may have wasted your money.

I guess they will work with H22 JDM cams but youre not installing any H22 factory cams here, arent you?

Right right i know you guys said to get crower springs, but i had already purchased the type s, and I verified their compatibility with crower so they should be ok.
