h&r and tokico

i just got my h&r sports and tokico blues installed today... and the front is two finger gaps lower than the back... its suppose to be 1.4 all around isnt it? or will the back settle later

how many fingers is it in the front now? and in the back?

front has like no to one finger gap.... back is about 2 finger gaps

o also there were these clear rubber things covering about 3 threads on the rear springs... was i suppose to take it off?

that is the correct drop for the h&r's

and are you talking about the rear bumpstops, cause you are supposed to trim them 1.25 inches

Yes, you should have trimmed the rear bumpstops, but as for your question about the clear rubber things that cover the coils: you can leave them on. They are not detrimental to the springs' performance. I believe they are there to protect the spring from handling, installation, or whatnot.

yea the guy who installed them trimmed the bumpstops on the front and rear.... how long is the springs going to take to settle and does the back usually settle last? right now it looks like the race springs, but i have the sports which is suppose to be even?

i told the guy you only have trim the rear bumpstops... but he said you have to do front also saying it depends on the shocks, not the springs..... anyone trim both front and rear?

In a way, this statement is totally false. Having too long (untrimmed) a bumpstop will keep your coils from compressing to their optimal length and therefore will make your car higher than it's supposed to be. Just follow the coil manufacturer's instructions on how much to trim bumpstops.

Follow the instructions that H&R gave you. And the trimming of bumpstops depends on springs, BUT DO NOT trim too much of the bumpstop (never more than half or so, i believe) because the bumpstop is what protects the shock.

so do i have to replace the front bumpstops and reinstall the springs? h&r instructions said dont trim the front but the installer trimmed it.... now the front is lower
