Gray Tape on Alternator Wiring Loom - What Type Is It?

That gray tape is falling apart on my alternator wiring and looks bad. I want to replace it with the same to avoid the gooey mess of regular electrical tape. Anyone know what type it is?

Its just regular electric tape. Nothing special about it at all.

Yeah just engine heat+elements have stripped away the adhesive and dried it out.

If your electrical tape is a gooey mess then buy a new roll.

As everyone else stated - it's just regular electric tape. Once you remove it, you'll be left with a gooey mess anyway.

There is high heat resistant electric tape on the market, thats what i've been using whenever i've had to re-do a harness. No gooey mess.
