marcucci, I'm in Fort Worth, I have a set of stock shocks and springs from my base prelude that you can compare with. Just PM me or IM me.

Unfortunately, I didn't do an direct comparison with a base shock. I do think that I am correct in my assumption that the perch location of a Koni shock (on the upper perch) is the same as the perch on a base shock.

* I used the same set of Koni yellows on my 98 Sportshift with stock springs. Ride height was unchanged.
Just throwing another idea out . . . .

Perhaps there is more of a difference in spring rates than spring length. In other words, instead of the base spring being 20 mm longer to compensate for the lower perch, it might just be a stiffer spring, so it isn't as compressed. And even though increasing the rate up front might promote understeer, there's ATTS & a smaller front sway to compensate.

Of course, that doesn't explain why someone might end up with a high ride-height on an SH (with more weight up front than the base).

It could be a combination of both (stiffer rate & slightly longer spring). I guess there's no way to know until we measure them.

Because of this false info. I paid 300 for getting my KYB's removed and having the diagnose done. Now I have to return my KYB's and buy another set of shocks that WILL work for the SH and pay for an install again...about 260.
1st You paid 300 bucks to get shocks changed lol! spend 30 on tools.

2nd stay off any medical forums! you cant run with ANYTHING you are told
on a forum you have no idea if they know what they are talking about.
get advice from pros that do the work everyday in a shop.(not knocking
anyone hear but i think that's agreeable).

3rd don't be such an a$$ about it! it's not like they are sitting at home like
"bro check out what i told this kid to put on his car, ha ha what a
dumb$h!t".

Highonlude- hey man, look at the date. Those people (all exept 2) probably aren't even alive anymore, so you're just screamin into outer space, cause none of them will ever hear you. They haven't been to this sit in many years most likely, and they will never return.

A good rule of thumb for posting on an old thread, is-if you have to go back past page
"3", it's probably too old.

The suspension geometry is different for both models. I've heard alot of people say there front was higher than the back after lowering an SH. I don't know about higher than stock, but higher than the back. On SH coil overs are the best way to go because you can even out the ride height if it doesn't look right.

There is a slight possibility that all the bumps stops, washers, etc. pertaining to the strut mounts weren't assembled in the correct order.

Whether you're still watching this thread jayz, I have to ask, when did you buy your lude, and why did you sell it?

Sorry, I was always curious about why people sell em, not to mention you look to be one of the original members and thats cool just to think you were owning and driving a lude when I was in junior high!!!!! Hah, thats nuts, I hardly even knew what a lude was(I saw them in the DC game "tokyo xtreme racer"-my bro would point them out on the street, sort of wierd to know they were still brand new back then...)

i got it new back in '00 and sold it in '03. reason for selling is because my wife and i were gonna have a baby. we needed a bigger one. never wanted to sell it but i had no choice.
