Got my Prelude back!!

I picked up my 2001 Prelude Type SH today from the dealership after a week of warranty replacement to the clutch, flywheel, bearings and crankshaft.

I have to say that my car is running 10X better than before. Its extremely smooth and shifts better than when I get new 8 months ago.

I have decided to keep my Prelude instead of selling it. Also, I want to get rid of my exhaust (Apexi RS) because I want to remain stock for awhile. Check out my post in the classifieds section for other prelude parts that I am selling.

I would recommend that anyone that feels there car isnt running properly or has some problems with it...whatever it may be..electrical/mechanical get it checked out by Honda and take advantage of your warranty.

Happy for you... My clutch just blew out at 22,840 miles a couple days ago.. and honda won't fix shht under warrenty. They were like that shhts only covered for 12 months/12,000 miles.

So now my cars in some getting fixed.

Honda vehicles are covered under a bumper to bumper warranty for 3yr/36,000 miles. The only reason they might not fix your car is if your clutch is burnt.

Yep.. it's burnt alright. I raced some ****er in a celica gts all modded out and shht. and whooped his ass... so then he's like god damnit are you sure a celica gts is supposed to beat a prelude.. and i assured him.. so he wanted to switch vehicles. i whooped his own ass in his own car... the ****er didnt know how to drop the clutch on my car.. cause the gts pedal is so much shorter. he kept burning the clutch till smoke was coming out... then i told him just drop the ****ing clutch, stop slipping it... it burned out beautifully.. then he came to a stop saying.. i have it down now lets race again.. so i pull up in his car.. and we both get ready to run.. i yell go and my prelude didnt move a freaking inch. im sitting waiting for his ass at the end of the 1/4 mile.. for a few minutes.. then i drive back wondering why cars are driving around him.. the car only moves centimeters at a time if you bring it up to about 5000rpm. so i had my car towed to my buddies shop getting everything replaced.

I noticed another thing with my car....

When I first got my Prelude brand new, it had a different sound when I started the car. That sound later went away and now that my car is back from the dealership with some parts replaced like the crankshaft, it sounds the same way it did when I bought it new.

It's kinda strange...

I had my clutch replaced under warranty at 32k miles. I only had to pay $100 for the clutch disk itself. Fair enough. Preylude you may notice your gas mileage improve; mine did.

i was looking over the work order for my car and i noticed another thing.

i was told by the honda service manager that they will replace my clutch, but when i was looking through the parts they ordered the clutch wasnt listed.

I would go back to the service department and ask them to show you the parts that they replaced. If they can't hand you your used clutch - and it only has to be the friction disc, not necessarily the pressure plate - then that'll prove what was replaced and what wasn't.

They may play the line that your clutch was fine - but from your description of your clutch, I suspect they simply forgot to list the part on the work order...

The work order says:

520026, DISK, FRI
520027, DISK, PRE
