Looks good I guess, haven't installed it since my valves are not here. Anyway, I was looking at the cams, but it seems like it's finsih between the lobes are very rough. It's looks like it's never been sanded or something. Is this with all the cams?
Just wondering, have you actually done any research on the reliability of crower cams? I have no direct experience with them, I just would like to know what you know. After any reply, I'll show you something that may interest you....
its okay i was concered too and my dad laughed at me when i came over to show him.. only the flat part TOUCHES ANYTHING... all aftermarket cams look like that.. its okay.. also that why you break in cams... althoug the OEM cams where so clean.. and COMPLETELY clean between lobes although ti doesnt matter

What do you mean? I have only done my research on PO.com. I couldn't really find any information outside of this forum. Are you going to tell me about a guy who installed crower cams and the same day it broke into three pieces?
Originally posted by Dragazn Thats normal on Crower, I think that JUN is smooth likeOEM, that is why JUN is more $$$
But I didn't want to spend more then $1000 on set of camshafts....I'll let you guys know how it turns out...just hoping it won't break into three pieces...
Yes, at first release crowers honda cams were breaking, and yes it was a bad batch of steel....they said it had high levels of silica in it, too high......so the have since fixed the problem, that was a year ago or so....
That's what I have heard too. When crower first came out with honda cams, it broke into three pieces. And I heard the problem has been fixed. I'm sorry to hear that both of your friends cams broke into three pieces, but two guys I know who have crower cams installed in their lude, which are DYI01 and Annybus, their cams didn't break yet. So, I assumed it was safe. Only time will tell. I'll keep you guys posted on how this turns out.
onve you get over the vtec over hahah WOA it pulls.. the bottom end is also alot more responsive.. i do get a stall evrey now and then but it runs fine and idles smooth
it is normal to have the edges rough like that. After all it shouldn't effect performance since the lobes touch the rockerarms only. Crower reputation for snapping cams is quite....scary. I hve heard of Toda cams snapping as well. Hmm....
All I can say is, if you have problems take it back to Brian Crower, if they dont' take care of you, take your information to the public. I have some information on their products that's not so good, but then they resolved the issue...sorta So.....things are okay for now.
james your so negative.. crower cams skunk2 had the same prob wth theres.. and ive seen with my own eyes JUN 3's break on a b-series block... think of all the years crower has been around and all the cars they have done.. the people that had the cams break had there motors replaced too.. crower i know me, vnt, bdb, and dy101 all are running stage 2's and would never go back..
