Good Speakers???

Wow it seems forever since I been on this board. But anyways, I might be in the wrong forum but this probably gets more traffic then the audio forum. I have stock headunit and speaker. I am thinking about changing the front, maybe all, speakers but don't want to change the headunit. I need to know what are some good speakers are without changing the headunit. Yes, I did a search and I'm having a hard time finding information on them. I get confuse with the ohms. I belive the stock speakers are 2 ohms. Can I use 4 ohms speakers or do they have to be 2 ohms. If only 2 ohms, what are some good ones. Thanks a banch guys.

Well, the stock fronts are 4 ohms, the rear are 2 ohms. In any case, the stock HU is 2-ohm stable, and 4-ohm speakers cause less stress than 2-ohm speakers, so most aftermarket speakers will be okay. That said, to get good sound out of most aftermarket speakers, you'll need to run them from an amp, which renders the whole issue moot. I haven't really heard any speakers powered off the HU, so maybe the sound quality will be good enough for you without an amp, but you should probably plan for one just in case.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong; I'll let others give their recommendations concerning speaker models.

edit: if you do just drop in 4-ohm speakers for the rears (using the stock amp and not an external one), the sound will be much softer than your current ones. Just a heads-up.
