..Well i just got an email from kingsmotosports thanking me for my bussiness with them buyin my mugen products for my 97 lude from them. In the email they also say how their workin together with mugen power to bring a few parts back into production again. Like they just did with the Mugen MS series wheel well the best part of all that is that their plannin on bringin the 97+ Mugen body kits back. So damnn i guess their is a pretty good demand of it and still alot of true fans of Mugen Power parts and that made me happy to hear that too. So hopefully instead of gettin the fake kits imma be gettin the real thing. yEA YEAH!!!!!....
I hope you can prove me wrong. I guess 5th gens are at the bottom of the depreciation and now the younger crowd can afford them. They all want a mugen bodykit and now some demand might make Mugen want to produce them again?
I highly doubt mugen would bring back such a specific item. Rims can be somewhat universal between hondas...kits aren't.
Mugen would be better at making a kit for the new US civic SI coupe than an old platform that didn't sell well.
I hope you update this thread if/when they do to prove me wrong.

I didn't know that the Prelude didn't sell well? Did it? What type of prod. numbers would you estimate per year. I know I don't see many around, but I still thought it was somewhat of a success, right? Hijack...
it wasnt that it didnt sell well, it was to exspensive to make for the market. civics and accords where cheaper to make so they cut out the prelude

I read about 59,000 fifth gens were sold in USA. If that is total for all years, I like my car more because that isn't a lot compared to the civic.
yes..i really do hope this is true despite the fact that it's highly doubtful. what did they exactly say? maybe if you posted their e-mail to you it'd be more convincing..nevertheless, if they DO bring the Mugen kit back, i feel like it'll still cost an arm and a leg

^you can search production numbers but they sold less and less each generation for awhile.
If it sold well, there still would be a prelude
there is more to it than just falling sales numbers.
the s2000 is much less useful as a car than the prelude and its going strong for 8 years? going on 9 years? honda pulled it for some unknown dumb reason and didn't take a stab at redesigning it and making it sporty.
the prelude failed because it tried to be an accord and an s2000 at the same time.
and this is where the mentality of japanese car manufacturers takes a nose dive. they line up their cars in a manner of simplicity: a little car, a sedan, a roadster, a van, an suv, an a hippyhauling CRV.
it's like this with all of them. but somehow BMW and mercedes can survive with 5 or 6 different sedans, coupes, suvs, etc? internal competition can be healthy if done right.
i personally don't like the s2000 because it's too much (maybe if i had money to blow on a sunday car); i cannot stand sedans because again, they're too much in their own right; the civic is too mainstream and "everyone has one."
just like the BMW 8 series failing, the prelude takes the same path. both were similar cars: smaller and nimbler than sedans, larger than roadsters or the little coupes, and had the large-front/small-rear styling.
