I changed my PCV 3 months ago. I dont get where your going with this? Whats my PCV have to do with anything? If your referring to the smoke...thats whats supposed to happen when you do a seafoam intake treatment. Just look on youtube @ all the vids of people using it and all the smoke.

WELL...Finished the job around 4:00 Friday...Left the shop and noticed a bit of a vibration. Called my buddy and he told me to get back, there was a puddle of oil from under the car. I went back and we found oil leaking from the timing belt cover..Seems one of the seals we replaced is leaking...and I hope thats what caused the vibration I was feeling also.

Of coarse...no way to get a replacement seal @ 4:30 pm on a Friday. So Here it is Monday and no car.

He's pulling it apart as we speak to check out what the deal is.

Does it seem plausible that if the Crank seal wasn't seated properly and leaking, that I would have a vibration also? That's what I was thinking it was.

if the cranks seal leaking is causing the vibration then you will have larger issues than the leak. A leaking seal should only really leak and thats it; unless it leaks all the oil out, then the bearings can heat up and spin tehmselves. Then you could possibly have vibration but in that case, the internal oil pressure loss would have already thrown an oil light on the cluster. Are you sure it is the crank seal and not a balance shaft seal?

Gotta be careful when replacing those seals, even when trying to remove them you can damage the crank say if you were carelessly prying at it with a flat head screwdriver. Pressing them in improperly will cause them to leak big time too.

Serious loss of oil pressure could be the cause of the vibration like bouckarooo said.

Well, I had no CEL's or Oil Pressure Light.

My friend said it was the Crank Seal that was leaking, he just finished replacing it. I watched him remove the old one and put the new one in on Friday and he was very careful. So I doubt there was any issues with being to rough.

Gonna go pick it up tomorrow morning.

You can be as careful as ever and still not do it right, all about pressing it in evenly, it can also go too far in or not enough.

All fixed.

Although there are some funky noises coming from the area of the belts. My friend says it's just the sound from all the new belts...I guess I'll just have to wait and see (hear)

Sounds like a have a turbo now..LMAO

Threw a CEL this morning...came thru as a "catalyst out of range" code.... Cleared it and waiting to see if it comes back.

Found out what the noise was too...took the valve cover off to replace a few studs that striped and saw the timing belt was riding up to the outside edge of the cam gears...the edge of the belt was rubbing on the valve cover slightly.

Gonna have to take it apart again and see WTF is going on.

Put a couple shots of the Old valve cover and of the old belt & new installed.

I'll post the finished job once I get a few other things changed.

Usually when the timing belt wants to walk off the gears either the tensioner isn't working right or the adjuster bolt that goes through the center of the pulleys is bent.

Damn! I hope it's neither...the Auto Tensioner is new (replaced it with the belt) and I have no idea how the adjuster bolt could have gotten bent.

I'll check it out though. Thanks.

All done!!! Let me know what you think. (You can see the before shot of the original valve cover above)

Got the Valve Cover from Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com ... Fits like a glove...very good quality on the powder coat

Got the Spikes from DownStarinc.com Bolt Boys! - Baby Spikes! M6 Nuts (Powered by CubeCart)..Had to mod the spikes for the High Tension Wire cover...Bought 6MM Bolts..screwed them into the spike and cut the heads of the bolts off to screw into the valve cover.

Got the VTEC Solenoid Cover and Billet Alluminum Oil Cap on Ebay..cheapo, but blends in with the rest..and seem to be doing their job.

I WAS going to put BWR Blue Radiator Hoses on..I ordered them from Importrp.com BWR Radiator Hose Kit - Import Replacement Parts, LLC ... DO NOT BUY THESE for your 5th Gen..They do not fit...the top hose is not bent correctly.

IRP is "discussing" with BWR...I just want my money back.
