TRANNY IS COVERED UNDER MAJOR COMPONENT WARRANTY! (unless it was abused)...

I had a tranny issue on my Lude and I had 96000km... 5th gear syncho went... Honda changed it for me free of charge last month...

No-no, it's covered under the 5yr/100000km major component warranty... Either way, do what you feel is right... ask the dealer if the tranny goes under 100,000, is it covered?

If something happens to the tranny before 10/27 then it should be covered. Regardless if you ride the 9 months out on the Honda warranty or get the additional 3 yr comp. warranty, there are always going to be the 'what if' scenarios. Either way you'll be crossing you fingers.

I also had a 5th gear synchro go out. Mine's a manual and it only had about 10,000 miles on it at the time. My dealership changed it for free (even gave me a rental car!) and said that if it happens again, even beyond the warranty, it'll be covered because it's a recall item. I even had some minor mods done (pulleys, i/e). Pretty nice dealership!

Hey Paul. Yeah, Hobbs. How's things with you? The Prelude is being stored for the winter. I'm on week 8 and it's torture! I've got another 8 weeks to go. I don't know if I can do it! I'm sure I'll see you around in a few months. Hopefully i'll have my JRSC by then.

Well I think in the long run I will be better off since I have no clue how it was driven before.

It will give me a peace of mind.
