gear/cluch problems

sorry if i piss someone off for starting this thread.

I have a 99 type sh, when im driving i sometimes cant get it into 2nd and 3rd gears, the cluch feels sticky/grindy in the foot pedel no sounds tho. when im down shifting i can hear a "shhh" sound. i also hear that sound just pushing the cluch in when idel in the drive way, I know its not normal because it just start happening. the cluch engages almost at the floor. the cluch is not slipping and the hydralic oil is full, but may be old, just bought this car 5 months ago.
I thote it was the cold weather when it 1st started, would like to trouble shoot it before i take it in because i live in a northern mining town were they love to F@^* you over.

any Ideas?

all you need is an 8mm wrench and a bottle of brake fluid.
(2 man job)
1. pump clutch a bunch of times*
2. hold clutch pedal all the way down.
3. while the pedal is down, unscrew the bleeder bolt on the slave cylinder until fluid comes out and then tighten it after about 2 seconds.
repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 a bunch of times.
*after you tighten the bolt, youll have to pick the pedal off of the floor to pump it some more. also make sure you keep fluid in your clutch fluid resevoir

if that dont work come back with the results

I'm going to suggest like in the other thread that your master cylinder needs replacing. You didn't say how many miles on the car. However, MCs go bad around 100k, and it always makes sense to replace them.
