Gas tank cover question

When you remove your filler cap, does your gas tank have a little hinged metal cover that gets pushed aside when you insert the pump nozzle?

I believe it's there incase you forget to put the gas cap back on; it will help keep the gas in the tank. (Liquid and gas form) But why do you ask?

i think he's talking about the metal INSIDE the hole... look carefully, most every car has it.

I stopped by the dealership (Autowest Honda in Fremont) yesterday and looked at the filler hole of a brand new silver 2001 Type SH sitting on the lot.

Nothing but a hole.
