Is your check engine light on? If so chances are you need a new O2 sensor. Tire pressure can play a large factor as well.

my car is 1997 honda prelude 2.2 v-tec. just base. non SH. also it is 106xxx and the check engine light is on. the car gives me obvious signs such as when i stop at a stop light and the light turns green, i begin by pressing the gas pedal, but the car is chocking BIG TIME!!! and out of no were it takes off like crazy! it feels like the fuel isnt going through properly and the check engine light says that my fuel is too lean. if anyone can help me with the problem, you are my hero!

did you read the link they posted for you?
the check engine light doesnt just tell you fuel is too lean.. what code is it reading?

If the choking you are talking about is more of a stutter and you feel it when your foot is at a certain throttle position no matter what the engine speed is you are most likely dealing with ignition misfire. If it is just at launch and even barely pushing on the gas it is stuttering you may have an expensive fix on your hands. Notwithstanding any of this you'd better get the code #, search it up and for christ's sake don't drive a car with a check engine light hard and complain about gas mileage as if you expect it to be normal
