Fuel Cut Off?

what is our fifth generation fuel cutoff RPM? I took my car all the way to fuel cutoff in first gear. After that I shift to second but my car didn't go nowhere fuel cutoff still in effect. How long does it take to resume back to normal. Also, Does this really hurt my car that bad? This is the second time I did it. Thanks.

Should be somewhere around 7400.... but every car differs.... some are 7.4k, some go as high as 8.0k, 8.1k...

And yes... it's bad.......

thanks for your reply. But why does it take so long to resume back to normal. I shifted to second but still couldnt acelerate fuel cutoff still in effect, I thought when you shifted to higher gear RPM should drop out of the fuel cutoff mode. Thanks
