I installed some 6.5 component JBL GTO605C and they fit perfect! Just a little trimming(almost nothing) of the door speaker basket was needed and even the tweeter fit in to stock location using the stock hardware. I would say it's an excellent price/quality speaker and I would recommend them to anyone.

Removing the door panel is really not that hard (3 screws) and your going to have to do it to replace the factory tweeter. I suppose you could replace the bottom speaker without doing it....but I don't see why you would.

Check out the picture of the install:

I didn't have to cut anything around the perimeter but I did have to trim (just a little with a utility knife) the plastic speaker basket to clear the bigger magnet. As far as the speaker wire goes...I used the stock wirering...changing it would be a big PITA!!

8 screws, actually, and a bunch of plastic clip/rivets.

But if you're getting co-ax's there's no need to touch the tweeter, or remove the door panel. Unless you're running new wire to the door (a PITA).
