Literally "jumps" of the ground...as in your front wheels are off the ground?

Because it is 100% normal for the front of the car to go up (not leaving the ground, unless you have a beast RWD drag car) during heavy acceleration.

I'm assuming you're talking about wheel hop. Getting motor mount inserts will help.

Wheel hop is when you attempt to launch or do a badass burnout and the wheel bounces up and down making an overwhelming shake which makes you think only one thing "this must be bad for it", which is not far from the truth, seeing as you can break your axles.

Kane666 mentioned when the wheel turns from a stop, really only happens when giving it alot of gas, technical term is "torque steer" occurs in reasonable higher power pegleg (non-LSD) FWD cars, it's a result of sending alot of torque through one wheel.

Hah thanks Storm Rider, I also forgot to mention the cure for the wheel hop, an Ingalls Stiffy torque damper will work miracles, run you back about $150 for the Prelude, and if you live in a snowy area is rather necessary. Remedy for torque steer, get an LSD so you're not losing all that power to your one wheel wonder. BTW Storm Rider thats a rather badass lookin Prelude you got, don't have one anymore but I think if I had a black one I'd have kept it, thinking about getting another one so if anyone knows where to get a cheap black or Electron (Pearl I think) Blue SH please make it known to me!

thanks. that's a ridiculously old picture but it still looks like that except lowered and has 17" dc5 knock offs on it.

5th gens are getting cheaper week by week. just have to keep checking your local craigslist or a local forum if there's one in your state/area. where you from? the EBP color is nice, should definitely get that. and if you do and you buy the oem kit brand new from honda it's already blue.

i have the ingalls stiffy, but i prefer to call it roger's stiffy because i got it from him. i've yet to install it after all these months though because it didn't come with directions and i forgot where i put it. does it help with rain? it's starting to storm up around here- just the way i like it

The rapid depreciation of the Prelude is precisely why I sold mine, I really hope to find a nice 5th gen SH black or EBP (thanks for the code) for under 4 g's over the next couple months. I know a guy who has one in really crappy shape, made mine look like showroom quality. Yes, the damper it will help you in rain-- SNOW especially you will get mad wheel hop. It's incredibly easy to install the torque damper from what I remember 2 bolts and it's ready to rumble.

EBP is actually Electron Blue Pearl. The blue color only available in 2001 models.
It's paint code is B95P
