Front Bumper/License Plate Installation

Here's the scoop, while back my front bumper had to get replaced.

Now I need to put on my front license plate but in order to do that I need to remove the front bumper. (At least I think I do)

Looked everywhere else but where are the key bolts I need to remove in order to do this.

don't you just drill 2 holes into the very front of the bumper and put the plate on?

You can do it that way, but there is a plate holder. I don't think you need to take the bumper off to install it though.

You can drill two holes at the very front of the bumper and bolt it on, but only the top will be attached, if you want to bolt the bottom part of the license plate down too, then go get the License Bracket from your old bumper or go buy a new one for about $5 at any shop that sells Honda Prelude parts and install it then bolt the bottom of the license plate to it. Or if you really need that $5 dollar to buy a happy meal, then go steal a License Bracket from a friend's prelude.

The OEM bracket is much better than just using 2 holes in the bumper or finding something at an auto parts store (I tried that, was very flimsy). I found the diagram online, circled the parts I needed, and had my dealer get the parts. Probably $20-30 or so in parts IIRC, maybe a bit more, but one of the dealers with a website would probably be cheaper. It was a snap to put on. You don't need to pull your bumper.

I'm not sure about this "drill 2 holes in your bumper" thing. Didn't the bumper come with the proper holes from the factory? This I wouldn't know since I got my car used.

See the attached diagram.

I believe they were items 4, 32, 35, 43, 41, 44. I might have missed a couple.

Umm, i was refering to the OEM License Bracket and Number 4 in that diagram was what i was refering to, and its called the License Bracket i believe, and im guessing he got a taiwan bumper so i dont think there are any "proper" holes according to what he said, so thats why we reconmended drilling two new holes...
