First step on the rebuild.

Well, at least it's off of the trailer now. I lucked out and the lift locks engaged just before the roof touched the ceiling. Good thing my Chevy has been lowered or it wouldn't have fit under it. That was a butt pucker moment pulling it in. The twin disk clutch does NOT like to be slipped at all.

The motor is already out at least. Going to replace the rack and pinion first then begin the process of swapping parts from old (bad rings) motor, to the replacement motor (~80k miles on it). Should be much easier since the car is on a lift to do all of the work. Getting rid of ALL aftermarket parts on this thing. Everything from the turbo setup to the Bride seats. This was my son's car and I am all about stock.

The only mods it will have when I'm done, will be SH wheels and rear package tray.

Interesting, you're one of the few people that have the guts to go from a 457whp rwd corvette, to a................Prelude.

Your son must have dumped some serious time and money into the turbo build, whether he did it right or not(it just costs even more money to do it right). Maybe you could save the parts and sell them if they're worth something?

Good luck!

NOT getting rid of the Vette. I financed a 09 Civic SI for him, but, he had to give up the broke Lude. He spent about $6,500 on the turbo build. He put only the best parts on it. However, he did NOT do anything with the motor itself, so the rings let go.

I never said(or meant to imply) you were selling the Vette, I was just saying you're simply going from driving one to the other.......

Gotcha...
I had a 98 Base Lude prior to getting my Vette. This car will likely be a back-up car if my wife's or step son's cars are down.

i want a lift in my garage....
Nice vette though i'm likin it. I miss my 300hp 325ft/lb LT1 camaro z28, going from that to prelude is a small drop but ATTS is worth it (and an engine that doesnt cost $5k used is also worth it...)
