first 2 months of the honda world

I've only had my prelude for close to two months now and a old man side swiped me yesterday and pinned me in between him and a concrete bridge

passenger door: ruined
passenger front fender: ruined
ALL 4 rims: ruined
front bumper cover: ruined
paint job: will need a new one

my car is a 2001, does anyone know about what the insurance company will say its worth? i hope they dont declare it totalled but if they do i'm goin to try to find a 5 speed thats is nearly stock for sale and buy it.

Look on the bright side. When they total it, buy yourself a 5spd

At least you were not super attached to it (hopefully)

Good luck.

If there is frame damage they usually say its totaled. Especially with all this other damage.

There is no way there is frame damage.

Good luck getting fixed, and I hope you get your 5-spd.

oh common.... that aint no damage. that ****ll buff right out. and your rims are NOT "ruined" you could also fix that, if not just get some new rims. Good luck with it tho. if it was me i would fix that. it would cost like 1-2k max and insurance should cover that too

i dont think there is any frame damage and i have another door. but when i open the door it sags down about 2 inches and you have to pick it up to close it, it reminds me of how an old chevy vehicle does, i think its just in the door tho

but what i plan on doin with the ins money is buyin sh rims, a new fender, a new front bumper cover, and possibly a vis invader carbon fiber hood, and paintin it midnight blue

Leave it like it is, just practice you redneck voice. Tell anybody that asks about it that you picked up a few donuts on the door while bumping other cars in a nascar race.

Seriously though, I see no reason that your insurance would total the car for that amount of damage. New door and some paint and you should be on your way.

well another thing in the plans will be a 5 speed if i get enough money, i have everything i need except the tranny itself, it wont be a sissy tranny too much longer, i promise you. i hate automatics.

i blame the automatic transmission for the wussification of America.
this was the first automatic vehicle i've ever owned, and i've owned 11 different vehicles since i was 14

the black will, the white on the door is actually where the metal is cut, and there is big chunks of aluminum missing out of both rims on the driver side where they scraped against the concrete curb of the bridge, and the passenger side rims are also missing metel. but if insurance doesnt total it i will fix it,

OOOOHHHH my misunderstanding. good deal in that case, the only thing i like about my crapomatic is bein able to shift without worring about pushing a clutch, but i would MUCH rather having a 5 speed to push a clutch and shift.

I hate to admit this but the car I had before this was a 04 Pontiac Grand Am and I would wish day in and day out I had a stick...once you have a stick there's no going back...I love my Prelude but sometimes I still miss my first stick: 1984 VW Rabbit GTI
