Fifth Generation Immobilizer

I have a 97 prelude type SH. The car stopped starting out of no where and after bringing it to a couple mechanics the general consensus is that I need a new immobilizer. I had the keys reprogrammed twice and after the first time they didn't start but then a day later one key started the car a couple of times then failed. Then the same with another key. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Another mechanic advised me to bypass it and others have told me to scrap it. but I just paid 4000 for it a year ago and its pretty clean other than this mishap. please help ..

Has the ignition recall been serviced?

An easy solution to get rid of the immobilizer is running an ODBI ecu. The P13 is the ECU used in the 4th gen h22 prelude. Other ECU's will require chipping and tunes.

Running a OBD I ECU wont bypass the immo... At least not mine... Anyway.. I have that problem but sometimes when I just start the car... like 30 sec.. just turn off itself... put a new ignition switch a no more issues
