faint tick when idleing

I just noticed the other day that when my car is in nuetral idling it has a little tick, was just wondering if this is common, normal for a 5th gen vtec, base 2001 w/ 7k miles on it, also its a 5sp? thanks

I believe this is normal. I notice this myself and got a little bent. I bought a 98 SH w/ 36k. Valves should be adjusted by dealer before they sold it(30k maintenance). I pop the hood of a brand 2002 civic with about 1k miles on it just to compare. Same light ticking and it's only a single overhead cam. Have the dealership take a look to give you piece of mind. I may do the same. If they tel me valve adjustment, I'll brawl them till they do for free since it should have been done already.
