okay, so yesterday i took my car in for an oil change and my dealer was asking me if i was planning to modify my car and i said no. then he was telling me that its best not to because they will cancel my warrany no matter what it is... intake or exhaust. my parents paid for the 7 year warranty and i was planning on installing my intake tomorrow... so im thinking are all dealers dicks like this? and after i make the hole bigger for my aem to fit will the stock intake fit right? i dont know, i guess im just glad i took out my aem intake box before i took it in for service =)

i went to my dealer for the 15,xxx miles service and asked them if after market stuff voids warranty he said "only if the part that you put on, has caused the problem" so just install it , and take it out whenever you go to the dealer to get someting done to it...

Yes. Read the fine print of the warranty and you will notice that mods done to the car will void parts of it. How each dealership interprets it is another matter.

Here's a quote from that
"With regard to aftermarket parts, the gist of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used. (see Federal Warranty Laws for details). The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. "
Just put on the intake and do you own oil changes or take it to a local oil change shop in your area. For major services i.e.: 15,000 mile or 30,000 mile tune-up, take it to a local Honda/Acura specialist mechanic (privately owned shop). If you run into any problems with your Honda (warranty issues) and you need to take it to a dealership, just remove the add ons and return it to stock.
Just keep the receipts from your oil changes and major services, showing you've maintained the car properly and Honda can't say anything. Nothing says you have to bring you car to Honda for every little thing (i.e.: oil changes). Just do it yourself and keep the receipts. That's what I did.
