factory keyless entry for 97 lude

I was wondering if factory keyless entry is available for a 97 prelude base. I know the newer models have keyless but could i get it put on my 97. it's a great feature i wish i had it.

thanks

It would work but u mine as well get an aftermarker or even spend a little more and get the aftermarket alarm system. U know how honda's get stolen I got my viper alarm b/c i was putting a system in but also b/c i didn't want to hurt my paint by missing the key hole at night

so if i went to the local honda dealer what would I ask for a whole security system or is just the keyless entry available.

i was told by the dealer that the factory honda alarm would not work on my 97 lude is this true.

I don't see why not. Don't order it from the dealer anyways. order it from www.handaccessories.com/preaud.html and ask them and order it from them b/c it is a lot cheaper

I had the same problem....my 98 base didn't come with keyless entry. You can't use any of the later keyless entry systems cause the radio is different(the brain is in the back seat whereas ours is under the dash). Dropped the idea for a while and then the gf bought me the honda alarm for my bday. I think that's the only way you can get factory keyless entry on our year ludes.

hmm...well if there was a factory keyless entry system, it was probably not too much cheaper than the factory alarm. hparts has the alarm for 98 and 97. not too sure about the keyless entry system(if there is one...which I don't think there is).

Umm, why on earth would you use Honda's security system? I mean, I can see it if you were buying new, but there's better and cheaper alternatives for what you are looking for. I know some people like to keep everything Honda and I can understand that, but some things are better aftermarket - security systems are one.

As for an online Canadian site, I don't know of any - at least for accessories - maybe there is one but I haven't found it!
