F*cking 5th gear :mad: :mad: :mad:

damnit, it grinds...just started today....doesnt grind if going under like 50 mph....OR...if i double clutch into 5th gear to i guess 'match' the synchros. so from now on its doubling into 5th

or u can just do it slowly/smoothly..... i use to grind 5th gear once in a while when i first got my car....now it fine

i always grinded 5th gear when i first bought my car. luckily it was under warranty so they fixed the syncro's for free

I had the 'grind' twice on my 5th gen.. so I switched to a 4th gen tranny...

When you guys say 'double' clutch what do you guys do exactly? I didn't think double clutching upshifting did anything?

press clutch in, take car out of gear, let go of clutch, push clutch back in, shift into a gear, let clutch out.

I just had mine replaced under warranty. I guess its the fork. There is a FAQ about it on this site.

ya when i bought my car it started grinding like a month after that .... there wasn't much mods done to the car other then lowering it ... so honda repaired it for me under warranty. but now i am scared of it coming back.... and i do have the 100,XXX mile power train warranty ... but no use to me.... i am super charged

i dont grind at all unless i am not paying attention, or if i am sleepy.. sorry guys. 5th doesnt grind on my car and it hasnt since i got used to the car.. Keith i told u this when we were talking about your headlights.. now.. as for second gear?! or trying to get into reverse?! that's another story!!

luckily mine was under warranty when this started happening. Week after I sent it to the shop, it never grinded again. I got the bill and it was 1300 bux , thank goodness for warranties

1300 bucks wtf..the parts are 250 bucks....the labor....thats a good little bit but any GOOD mech. should know how to do this

the 5th gear grind is very common for the 5th gens...i just thought it was something we had to deal with.

For those who double clutch, try shifting to 5th slower. I think it's like the same thing lol. Clutch in, wait and then shift to 5th slowly.
