"Expert" help/info needed..

97 base Prelude with manual trans.
Turbo added to motor year before last along with bigger injectors, OBDI computer and resistor(?).
The rings finally gave out on the original motor. My son bought an OBDI motor to put in the car with less than 50k miles on it.

The questions I have are:
1)What is the resistor for?
2)Will the OBDII wiring harness plug into the sensors etc on the OBDI motor?
3)Will the OBDII distributor work on the OBDI motor?

Two routes I can take so need to know both.
I need to know what needs to be done to use the OBDI motor, in the OBDII car that is using an OBDI computer IF I put the turbo on the replacement motor.

Or, what needs to be done to use the OBDI motor, in the OBDII car with the OBDII computer.

I have seen references to internal and external coil, what is that?
The car was running but smoking when removed from the car so everything was working.
The replacement motor came with everything still attached except for the transmission. But, I’ll be using the original trans and Exedy clutch.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to put the turbo back on the replacement motor yet.

REAL tempted to just sell the thing as it sits on my trailer

1. Resistor is needed for the peak / hold injectors instead of obd2 saturated injectors (I'm pretty sure)

2. No because there are different sensors. Please search because there a few threads on how to install a odb1 motor into a odb2 (5th gen) prelude.

3. I don't think so as it's fixed instead of a "manual" one as in the odb1 motors.

internal / external coil, jdm motors have the internal coil. USDM motors have an external. They both do the same thing, one is easier to maintain (external) and other is slightly harder due to parts availability.
