Exhaust Problem

Ever since I got my custom catback pipe 2 1/4 inch... and my 5Zigen muffler the back 1/3 of my car has been COVERED in thick black residue-- what the hell is this stuff.... someone said it was because I needed to change my plugs, and then someone else said that It was because I was running rich, but I dont have a VAFC or anything, so I don't know how I would be running rich or what to do about it if I am... someone help me out...

and if I were running rich wouldn't this have happened before I got aftermarket exhaust?

Its because our ludes run rich, the same thing happens to me (except i just get thick carbon deposits on the exhaust tips/inside of exhaust) since I installed an aftermarket catback system. I think you can get a fuel pressure regulator (cheapest option) or VAFC to fix it...
