exhaust gasket a bit small...is this bad? - Honda Prelude Forum

So i had an exhaust gasket blow out and the auto parts place didnt have the correct one to fit my greddy evo2...so we used one that was slightly smaller. Is this bad? I did notice that now when i turn my car off i get that tick tick tick sound that the RSR exhaust is known to have. but yeah, do you think a slightly smaller diameter gasket would be harmful. I know eventually the part that is in the way of the exhaust flow will just burn off...but ya. Any thoughts?

Not harmful but will reduce flow somewhat. You can always trim the gasket a little to open it up.

k, thanks just wanted to make sure it wasnt gonna bottleneck it to the point of messing up a cat comb or something.
