Engine Rebuild Question.

I have always wondered this. If you rebuild the motor the right way. Will it be like a new motor with 0 miles and faster? Or will it still be the same way as if it had 100,000 miles, just faster? Thanks. I know by replacing things they are new, but the block does not get replaced, just worked on.

It depends on how much money you spend. If you spend twice what a new motor costs, then it will be twice as fast.

It would be a like new engine. However, it will still be a 100k mileage motor.

Seems pretty idiotic to even consider the notion that rebuilding a motor w/ new stock parts would cause it to be any faster than a stock motor.

Um, no, not stock parts, rebuilding with upgraded parts. Why waste my money to buy the stock parts from a dealer when I can upgrade.

^Should've included that information w/ your original post. Even then, that does not guarantee a faster engine.

Can you give some examples of the parts you plan on upgrading?

I haven't done that homework yet, doing everything else that leads to that which is learn about whats what, if I do this what will I get from it and is it good for turbo or N/A. My main concern is, will the engine be much stronger with upgraded parts at 100k then the stock motor. Will it last a lot longer then the original 100k motor and parts?

It all depends on which route you want to take. High compression N/A or lower compression FI. Turbo or S/C... etc...

You have to figure out which way you want to go. How you build your engine determines whether it is good for FI or NA.

New parts will last longer than worn parts. However, how it is tuned and how you drive it determines how long the engine will last.

Crash the Prelude and buy a used Ford Lightning. That's what I would do.

I need to add that you should find a young girl in a Mustang to actually turn broadside into the path of your Prelude. Very important!

Then after you buy said lightning, you must delicately, caress it into a totaling crash.

Then after much thought, buy a Mini

If you are going to call someone something, at least do it with proper grammar.

It's "you're an idiot".
