engine oil capacity?? - Honda Prelude Forum

ok so i just bought a 97 prelude base and there was no owners manual with the car. i was just wondering and cant find anywhere the engine oil capacity since im gonna change it coming up here. thanks for the help, i called a honda dealer and they said 5 quarts but i wanna be sure cause it sounded like they just gave me a number close to the actual hahah.

5 quartz is correct. Buy 6 though because you might need to top off. Prelude burns a lot of oil.

thanks man and thats good to know cause i did not know they burned a lot...is that a normal condition or do you mean if the engine is running bad cause mine is a+ and all major and basic engine parts have been replaced(t-belt and all others, water pump, cam seals, balancer seal ect.)

it burns if you use vtec a lot. I dont vtec much but still have to add about 1 to 1.5 quarts between oil changes.
