Engine light + Oyxgen sensor

My engine light is on and I brought it to the mechanic.
He check it out and told me that it is oxygen sensor then he turn the engine light off for me.

I'm not sure that it is busted oxygen sensor or just false alarm from the engine light. I have been driving for 100 miles without any problem and the check engine light is still off.

Should I get oxygen sensor change as soon as possible or just wait for the check engine light to show again?

How many miles you have in your car right now? Did he specify which O2 sensor?

It's 101,000 k-miles, He's not sure which one.
I just went to AutoZone. They cannot read the code because the light is already off.
Should I wait until the light is one and check it again ? OR just get the O2 sensor change.

If you had drove 100 miles after it was reset, then the light would've turned on by then if there was a problem. First of all, you SHOULD have got a print out to see which o2 Sensor it was or what code it was. Second of all he could have been bull****ting since he didn't give you a printout and tell you which o2 sensor. Third of all, the check engine light can also turn on if you don't close your gas cap all the way, which means it could have been that code which would've popped up "manufacture specific code P### etc." So if you didn't get a print out and you drove 100+ miles without lights coming back, that means he was trying to Dangle $$$$$ from you. So if i were you i wouldn't buy the o2 sensors anymore unless the same code appears again if the light appears again.

I would wait until your check engine light comes back if it does.
