Electric Supercharger on eBay

Hey all

I have just joined the site after purchasing a '98 plate 2.2 VTI with tiptronic gearbox, 4WS, 4-5" aftermarket catback sports exhaust and an LPG conversion. Obviously the motor is pretty heavy, so I was hoping for some tips on how to increase general performance, especially low rev pulling power.

I have seen an electric supercharger on eBay (search for 150134188268) which looks great. Has anyone tried it or heard anything about it?

After skimming through a few posts I have come to the conclusion that the type s air intake is the way forward. Can anyone suggest where I can purchase one? I have seen listings on eBay USA for an Acura Type S air intake -is this compatible with the Prelude?

Thanks in advance.

Russ

Acura Type S Intake will not fit (to my knowledge). You can get the Prelude Type S Intake system from JDMLAND.COM. I believe it is $160. As far as Electric Supercharger goes.....that is a NO NO...If I had 4 hands....I would give that electric supercharger 4 thumbs down!!! Basically...dont waste ya money on that supercharger

Welcome to P.O. for your maintence needs check out our sponsors for some low prices on the basics, e.g. belts, hoses, tensioners. Congrats on picking up a Lude be sure to read the articles about the sport shift transmisison. I'd stay away from the electric supercharger too, if you really want an electric supercharger google "Thomas Knight". You'll find that even that set up runs about the price of a regular turbo kit and you can't use it all the time its only for 15 secs or so. If your looking to go fast you'll find that how fast you go is directly proportal to the size of your wallet. And your best bet for go-fast on the cheap is a 75 shot of Nitrous.

Woaw..! That Electric Supercharger by Thomas Knight sounds awesome, defo out of my price range tho... TBH I only want to spend $1,600 tops (inc labour) to upgrade my motor.

Are there any other recommended upgrades besides pricey turbo and supercharger kits? Such as hose kits, HD leads, spark plugs, grounding leads..?

1600 with labor...here's the way to go

Get a header from this guy: http://www.explicitspeedperformance.net/ $400
pick up a Skunk2 exhaust from ebay for about $400 shipped if you need a link I know a guy who has'em that cheap.
take 400-600 and get a Zex wet nitrous set up with a purge, you have to have the purge, so when an unsuspecting Mustang, WRX, Camero or whatever rev's at you, you just shut them up with out dogin your ride. If your sure about nitrous then get a set of springs and used rims so at least you'll have the stare factor going on. You can pocket the leftovers for labor or put it away for your Automatic to five speed conversion later on down the road.

Welcome Russ! If you want to make some more power, get asap rid of the LPG conversion. IMHO: don't drive a sportscar, when you can't afford the gas...

LPG is an on/off thing isn't it? Don't you start the car with gas then run it off LPG?
