EGR port cleaning, alternative to using port plugs

I'm going to be cleaning my EGR ports, instead of using the plugs would I be able to use bolts with some Hondabond sealer aound the outer edge. It would make it easier when they have to be cleaned the next time around, no drilling necessary.
If bolts can be used what size should I be looking for?

What other parts can be cleaned to inprove MPG?
I've already changed wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor, airfilter, and will be changing the plugs as soon as the port cleaning is done.

I would just use the port plugs. Bolts might leave shavings that could harm the engine. JB weld is going to a "b" to get off down the road.

It only takes a few seconds with a slide hammer to pull the plugs out anyways.

Try cleaning the entire intake manifold for better acceleration and fuel economy.

You plan on taking the entire intake mani off, if so you don't need to do a port cleaning lol but be prepared for a hassle. Couple of the bolts I hear are hard to get out.

If not removing you can just try and clean certain parts, i.e. IACV, Throtle body, ports, etc

intake manifold, I don't think thats going to happen, maybe just use a spray to do that.

I work on the lude cleaning the egr port over memorial day. Started at 8am and didnt finish til 5pm. Be prepare for a pita job. Broke two drill bit inside the port. Took the manifold off makes the job a lot easier. The copper plugs did not want to come out with slide hammer, the self tapping screw broke in half inside the copper plug. End up drilling out those damn copper plug and had to pry the plug out one be one. Slide hammer = useless, $16 not well spend.. Goes thru 4 can of carb cleaner because there were so much shaving inside the ports. Egr valve bolts are stuck, did not want to come loose.. Couldnt change the egr valve gasket like i wanted to.. Monday was a long ass day for me doing them egr ports. Also did the fuel filter too while i was at it. So much more room to work with.. Car run very smooth now.. Hope to get pass 20mpg mark..

Good luck to the OP.. Take off the manifod, i recommend it.. More room to work with..

^If you take the manifold off make sure you disconnect the sensors and lines going to the vacuum box on the underside, easy to break. Get a new gasket, reusing the old one will just cause a leak.

The bolts aren't tough, when I installed my Euro R IM I found a 12mm offset wrench to be my best friend.
