egr CEL thrown again...

I got the code in sep of 07, and around dec of 07 or jan of 08 I cleaned my egr valve, it cam back shortly after. So around last october(08), I did the egr port cleaning, all six of them, and today about 3.5K miles later, the light comes back on for code 80, or the egr vavle.

So what do you guys think, I rule out the ports now, do you think the valve itself might be skrewed?

Thank you very much.

Are you getting a code for insufficient flow or the actual valve?

Sounds like the valve isn't opening or closing anymore, so it needs to be replaced.

i'm not sure, I just did the paperclip test. Autozone doesn't technically do it for free here in CA, so I just know that it threw the "80" code. I'll get another gasket and check/clean it in the next few days. Then I'll be able to tell if the plungers action is smooth or rough; or just to see if that helps.

What would be the other consequence?
