ECU issue NJ Inspection - Honda Prelude Forum

For all the Jersey driver or around, have an issue, 2000 Prelude I changed the ECU from OBD2A to OBD1 to run Hondata S300 (since I have a JRSC) well now I cannot get it inspected, according to NJMV my ECU does not match my car, and since the people understands that I changed it due to the upgrade, but not the F****** computer, it thinks I putting someone else car to get mine pass, so I got rejected for that, IS ANYONE over there that can help me out, I'm in the military station in VA and I'm not in NJ, and I'm not here to bust no one, I need this sticker, I dont care what cost.

Contact NJDMV and explain you had to repair the vehicle which included replacing the ECU...ask them what you need to do to get it to pass inspection....also mention your in the military, they may be more helpful

You might try asking around for the inspection shops that overlook things...

Hah, dude I knew used to sell me inspection stickers for $15 when I lived in Jersey...15 years ago, old guy George at the Shoprite in Piscataway, used to call him the ice cream man cause he stocked frozen foods.

"purchasing" a sticker is illegal...

Just register the car in VA - if i'm not mistaken some areas down there don't even have a plugin test so you wouldn't have to worry about it.
