Ebay Headlights - Yes/No/Maybe so?

Found my headlight housings were cracked from the wreck I had a few months back... Insurance is going to pay to replace them both with "reconditioned" housings.

With the $$ they are paying for the reconditioned ones I can get these and have a few bucks left over...

97-02 Honda Prelude JDM Black Head Light DEPO NEW SH VTEC Pair 98 99 00 01 | eBay

So my questions is... Should I go for it? Or stick with the OEM Recondtioned?

I'm assuming that reconditioned means they are coming from a junkyard and were cleaned up.

Well good luck to them finding a 5th gen in a junkyard. Most likely the headlights they get are going to be brand new, OEM style replacements that you can buy from any parts supplier.

Take the check and get yourself something better.

While I am really not sure about those headlights on ebay (Especially with your color lude) I would have to agree with NOT going with reconditioned headlights. They never look quite right and I don't think you will be satisfied.

I know this doesn't answer your question.. lol.

The Depo headlights will be just fine. Don't throw out your old headlights though! The parts could be used for a retrofit at some point. (or you could sell me your driver side bezel )

find out if the OEM reconditioned will be STANLEY or not? if real OEM go with those.

Stay away from ebay headlights. They are garbage.

Worst comes to worst, take the check and get some used real OEM Headlights on ebay or craigs list.

To add to this.... If you ever purchase USED headlights off of ebay, chances are 9/10 you will end up with a headlight with a broken top tab.

Depo headlights for 5th gens are just fine and are one of the better OEM replacements. Not some no-name "ebay" light.

- i don't know what you have to deal with in the 4th gen area of things Dan, but maybe they like us 5th gen guys better

Disregard...Body Shop already ordered. Says they are OEM that have been repaired for broken tabs and stuff. Says hes used them before and they are just as good as a new set of OEM lights.

I have the Depo-Style and I've had fitment issues with them from day 1. I wouldn't ever really recommend them, but Brian sure did a nice job retrofitting the TSX lights in there.
