Thanks for the recommendation! But I just sold them tonight locally. I personally would try to find some JDM Honda fog lights. It's definitely worth the extra $$$ IMO.

The only thing that sucks about them is the wiring and the switch. The actual foglights are identical in practically every single way to the genuine foglights. It would be asinine to buy a used set of OEM ones that are in terrible condition when you can buy something that is brand new for less than half the price.
I strongly suggest getting OEM items because of quality reasons, but in this case it's a tough call since (apart from wiring) neither the OEM or these eBay fogs are better than the other. These aren't just replicas, they're honestly duplicates.
^ sorry but I disagree with you. I know we flamed eachother in the past for this.
I just can never realize that these are pratically the same as OEM. I have seen both v1 and v2. They are not built as well as OEM. They look cheaper quality.
I have the exact fog lights that you have a link to from ebay. Honestly, they really truly are great quality! They look better than the OEM ones IMO! I would definetly recommend getting them!
The only downside is the harness it comes with, it won't connect to the existing wiring in the prelude from the bumper into the interior. But this is an easy fix, just go to pretty much any store and buy some bullet connectors. Cut the harness that they want you to run from the bumper to the interior yourself in half and attach the bullet connectors. Then everything will work perfectly!
I put some 3000k HIDs in mine and they look awesome! Havent had any issues with melting or anything else yet!
In my experience - fog lamps on the Prelude (actually on most cars) don't do much - especially in foggy conditions. I got a set off eBay and they stopped functioning after a couple months. They were also absolutely useless in the Michigan snowstorms. They have been re-installed, wiring & fuses checked and yet no help.
If these fog lamps are being bought for show, great, but if not, then I'd avoid buying altogether. I got similar foglamps (smoked) and they look great on a white Prelude Sh, but apart from filling the holes in the bumper (and probably restricting airflow), they don't do much else.

I don't know about ebay, but my OEM's do the job they are supposed to do. I get better visibility on dark roads in the snow and rain. We don't get much fog here so I don't know.
As far as driving on pitch black roads out in the country, my fogs make 50% better visibility. I always say that it was a good decision to get them whenever I go on these trips.

Agreed. I have the legit jdm fogs, and have seen several 'ludes with the ebay fogs up close, right next to mine. You can't tell the fogs apart unless you know exactly what to look for. Fitment and function are exactly the same for both.

That's because jdm "fog lights" aren't really fog lights, they are drl's. If you want them to be useful, put HID's in them and they function kind of like high beams. With halogen bulbs in them, they are useless except to fill a hole in the bumper. If you want fog lights that actually function as fog lights, you should get USDM fogs (the little round ones).
Those are the v2 fogs, cause you can tell since they have the reflector shield on the inside. I have a set of these for my 2nd RHD Prelude that I'm building, and they're just as good as the real deal. They're made of the same material, so they're gonna last. They have the metal body just like the real fogs, and plastic lense cover just like the real fogs, but the price is waaaaay cheaper.
The v1 fogs were made completely out of plastic, and people had experience with them melting on them. Plus they have no reflector shield on the inside, and they used black silicone to seal up the lenses.

S-Lude Dan: you're obviously right about pitch black country roads - more the light, the better the visibility - ANYTIME. In the fogs that we get here though - there's just that much more light reflected from the moisture, hence my post.
indylude18: Interesting view and probably correct. The only reason I didn't suggest HID's is because they're such a nuisance to other drivers. Whenever a new Camry pulls up behind my 'Lude for example, I'm always cursing the driver for making me sightless. Sometimes visibility is also about concentration rather than making night into day in the rearview mirros of the guys ahead of you. Just my personal view, but I'd not recommend to anyone unless they came OEM equipped with auto-dimmers, etc. built-in

I said they function like high beams. You don't use high beams when you are in traffic.
On an empty road, my jdm fogs with HID's make a significant difference in lighting up the road. On a busy road they don't help, because I'd never turn them on and blind everyone else. With halogen bulbs, there really is no point in ever turning them on at all. They won't ever help you see anything. At least with HID's, they serve some useful purpose some of the time.
