eBay aftermarket ground wire kits....

Does anyone think that aftermarket ground wire kits like the ones on eBay are actually woth the $ that you have to pay for them? I know most of the ones on eBay are just generic brand names but HKS and I'm sure a few other companies make them as well. Anyway I'm trying to find easy ways to color match the engine bay with my paint (red), and I thought this would look prettty sweet. It also seems like it would be a pain in the neck to hook everything up to it. Thanks

unless you've got a heavily modded engine an aftermarket ground kit is a waste of money.

Thanks for the reply. If you dont have a heavily modded engine, like me, would they benefit at all? I definately don't want to waste money. I am primarily going for the looks factor of it, but if I can gain some hp in the process or better fuel economy or something, I would go for it.

If you're going for looks then that's pretty much all you're going to gain.

I have one but haven't put it on yet. It was $35 shipped on EBAY.

an upgraded aftermarket ground kit should be installed simply because you have a rather large amplifier installed. Think about it, you have a system that is essentially a big loop coming from and returning to the battery. If you're pulling amps from the battery, they still need to get back in. Removing the bottleneck at the factory ground wire should be done.

theyre a waste of money. just go buy some 4g wire and some connectors and do it yourself. in the f/s section i have a thread and on the right you can see my wires for the valve cover. theres only like 4 wires total anyway. i did notice better startup though but thats about it.

go to any welding supply store and get 4G cable for like $2 per foot. those grounding systems are completely useless. They are 100% pure waste of money. The only time they function is when the factory grounds aren't grounded as well as they should. You will see no gains at all. Your car might be a bit faster due to your wallet being a little lighter though =)
