Mine did it. If I rev'd too hard or took a corner too hard before the car warmed up, the light would turn on. Once the car was warmed up, I could redline and go round corners at 80km/h on three wheels and it wouldn't come on.

When I got the car serviced, I asked. They didn't find anything but it hasn't come on since (other than when the brake is in use). Guess it could have been fluid. Perhaps a different issue since I don't remember hills having any effect.

mine does it too when cold. the brake fluid is full. I think its the level sensor going bad. the cap is cheap, Im just too lazy to spend money on it to fix it.

I use to have a 99 Civic and it did that... turned out that all I had to do was change the brake pads cuz they were gone, and the brake light stopped doing that after the change. Don't know if it's the same for Preludes, since it hasn't happened to mine, but that's what I'm guessing. Hope that helps.
