Hey all

Searched this and found no answer. Here in the midwest (corn country) ethanol is king. After reading news posts lately there has been talk about E 15 fuel ( 15 % ethanol 85% gasoline). Two news stories stated that cars made in 2001 or later can run this safely. Now my Lude is a 2001. NOT that I would use it but simple question I have is, is it safe to run in my Lude?

I don't believe they have premium fuel that is E15, but I could be wrong.

The short answer would be that yes, your vehicle would run just fine on E15, you'd get lower fuel economy, but that's about it. There is a lot of opposition to making the country switch to E15 instead of most all the fuel out there now, which is E10. But it's just really going to make your injectors pump in slightly more fuel than before (which they're capable of doing). As with anything, if there is a new technology out there for things people have a lot of old technology of still, they have to make sure it's backwards compatible, just like they do with motor oil.
