Is there any way to extend the exhaust so the tip of the muffler is even with the OEM lip? Can you add like a 1" section to the exhaust to extend it a little?

My aftermarket muffler started to warp the rear oem lip a bit.. So i had to put the stock one back on.. I'll have to go to a muffler shop and extend the piping a little bit to stop it from melting it any further.. I urge everyone to cheap their oem lip if they have a exhaust/muffler.
