Driving me nuts with this Skunk2 thing......

I came across a good deal on some used Skunk2 coilovers and I went to the search and found lots of nice info......

Buuuuuuuuuuut....... there way too many sides to the topic......

They say the coilovers will help a lot more on smooth surfaces like track or good road conditions.

And that the springs will help better for street use.......

And some even said they would rather have springs than the Skunks......

Rite now I have Tokico Blues with some Eibach Prokit....... they work great rite now...... but I wouldn't mind upgrading my setup......

Now I probably most likely won't be going to the track....... but will do occasional twist n turns in the back roads........

I am willing to upgrade to Koni Yellows if the chance comes along but rite now the Blues are working great......

IMO - do not spend your money this way. Get the Koni shocks instead. I had your setup w/koni "yellow" shocks and it was fine for daily (switched to Neuspeed Sport springs because they're a bit stiffer <G>). There is nothing wrong with doing the Skunk2's-just remember that the springs are linear and not progressive rate and they will be stiffer-giving you a much firmer ride all the time. Good luck

So u didn't like the Prokit cuz they were progressive and not stiff/hard enuff for ur taste? (hhmmm those last few words sounded quite interesting )

But neways....... have u had any other shocks besides ur Koni Yellows?

I would like to know some comparisons between the Koni Yellows and the Tokico Blues.........

Stay with what is known to work. Trust me on this one. The product you refer to has a primary spring and a helper separated by a donut piece of material.
Anyway, I was suggesting that the Skunk2's are a linear rate spring-more or less the same stiffness all the time. The Neuspeed Sport that I currently have are progressive-get stiffer as they are compressed (same for Prokit). I have Skunk's on my Civic and they are very firm all the time while the Prelude gets firmer the harder I corner. (Hope that makes sense.) The difference in the Prokit and Neuspeed is enough that I wanted the Neuspeed springs-they are firmer IMO and according to Neuspeed's own data. I also found that I liked the way the car looks now better too. BTW: gf says that is the case as well.
As to your concern about shocks-I only use Koni so someone else will have to input on Tokico. Most people around here use either Koni "yellow" Sport or KYB/AGX. My experience with Koni goes back a very long time. They support almost every car I have owned. It is your money-do spend it wisely on the best you can afford.

jc836, so u think I should go with the Skunk2 coilovers with the Tokico Blues or with the Eibach Prokits?

I will upgrade to the Yellows as soon as I find a reeeeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyy nice deal on them, but rite now I've got a really good deal on the Skunk2s........
