Doors creak when open/close

Hi guys, you ever notice on your 5th gen the when you open the doors or close them, there's a creaking noise? I think i notice it happens more often when it's cold out, or after it's rained. But I could be wrong and maybe it just happens all the time. i put lube on the hinges, and even sprayed it with Liquid Wrench to try to kill the squeeks, but it doesn't work. I think it might actually be the front of the door rubbing on the rubber part wrapping around the electrical cables that run into the doors (i think that's what's inside the rubber). Anyone else have this?

Yeah, I noticed this... thought I was the only one! I think it is the rubber grommet... that houses your wires for the power door locks and and windows. Haven't found a solution to this yet, but it doesn't bug me all that much...

Yeah, that's what I mean! The rubber grommet! Oh well... Do you think a dealer could fix it?

Yeah, at first I thought it was the hinges, but it isn't. I think it's this rubber thing that the front of your door rubs against. If you open your door, you can see it from the inside. It's about halfway down your door, at the front where the hinges are. It's a rubber loom, about 2 inches thick. I think the front of the door is rubbing against it when I open it.

Yeah, considering this is the first car I bought myself, I'm pretty anal about it. I baby this thing... or at least I try to.

Sorry if you mind me adding a similar issue and not creating my own thread, keeps everything less clustered. My driver side door has an annoying cracking sound when i open and close it, doesn't sound like my grommet at all, just wondering if anyone's had any experience with this sorta thing, quick fix? or a whole new hinge?

yea i have that same creek but only on my passenger side. I sprayed on the hinges as well and damn thing is still there. Mine comes and goes though. And yea its annoying, i hate my prelude making that creeking sound when you close the door, it makes it sound cheap.

It's the door check strap. I had the same problem, replaced the check strap, and now the noise is gone.
