So I came out of the supermarket tonight, and unlocked my door.. unlike usual, my alarm chirped 2 extra times.. whaddaya know...some FOCKER hit my driver side door w/ something and scuffed he hell out of it..

burn in hell damnit!! burn in hell!!

Any of you 5th Gen owners have similar experiences?

;( sorry to hear that man... i came out of my friends house one morning, to see my car like this ;( and i didnt/dont have full coverage insurance (full coverage is like being raped for me, over $300 a month)

Got it fixed for $475, and it he did a really nice job on it...

i'm still trying to figure out what the heck they hit my car with..

i've got a viper 600esp btw.. too bad it didn't do me much good

since u said u came out of a supermarket , it's possible it could be a shopping kart..

go to the supermarket and complain to the manager and tell him that one of his karts hit ur car...........

i'd have to be a total ass to the guy...and to be honest..i'm a nice guy...as hard as i try not to be..i'm not sure how i'd go about doing that...knowing me...i'd come out w/ a "sorry about that sir"....

Heh.. yup.. that's why I've never gotten an alarm for my 'lude.. I used to have a Viper 500ESP on my Celica and it didn't stop anyone from keying it all to hell.. lame. Everybody just ignores alarms nowadays anyway...

Plus - if somone wants to steal my car they pretty much would need a tow truck or a flatbed with the engine lockout the G5's have so if they're that determined an alarm won't stop them. And smash and grab fu@ks will just bust your window and grab your bookbag/CD's/whatever and run.. they don't care about alarms much either.

That's why I just try and park in decent areas and never leave anything -anything- out in the open in my car when I park.. don't give anyone an incentive to break into your car man.

So far this strategy has worked out pretty good and saved me ~$500 to boot!

There is some guy over in my area has a nice body kit and all..about every month i see his car with a nice big dent it in ..so i asked him whats up..He says its his x-girlfriends. He set up a cam at night and caught one of them kicking the $hit out of it. Yea i had my car hit and run..about 900 in dammage. So now i have a camera on it while its parked outside at night. Basically its my webcam..just sits out my window so i can spy

can set it up to record all night so if i go out and see something happend..ill just go check video..oh well .

I get a small dent above the rear right wheel on the quarter panel. Its small but you can see the paint scuff on my white car. Now I am all the way in the back and no one messes with it.

Now I park far back anywhere I go, I do not mind the extra walk, I enjoy the walk it actually, and I have piece of mind not worrying about someone dinging my car since I am so far back in the lot

hehe seems the more you try the worse off you are.. i tried the whole thing with parking far out and certain ways so ppl cant park by you..but it semms to do opposite.. almost like a magnet

U know wut pisses me off the most, DINGS. For one thing hit n runs, atleast there's a CHANCE there's more witnesses, but dings.. someone opens the door on ur car, no one sees. and the thing abotu DINGS, PPL R SO INCONSIDERATE. This one time i'm at school, sleepin in my car. ALl of a sudden i hear a BOOM and my whole car shakes, i look up, and the guy next to me has his door opened and tis touching my car. so i roll down the window and i'm liek "what the hell" and he looks at me, and walks away. so i got him back by puttin peices of paper into his keyhole so the key wont fit, and then put white out over his windows and crap... thats wut he gets.. i mean he knows he dings my door, and he walks away wtf? as for major hit and runs, someone scraped the side of my bumper. no dent, just a scrape.. but it looks nasty, so i put touch up paint, but it still looks nasty.

speaking of inconsiderate...some ASS on my campus today decided to put his entire hand on my hood as he was walking by in front of my car...i was about to get out of my car and feed him his own nutz..what the hell are these people thinking?!

I totally agree on the dings part... something similar happened to me... i just started my car in the parking lot, and someone comes by to get into his car. He just swung open his door, hits my car, doesn't even look at my car, then drives away! I still remember that Red VW Golf. This happened at work, so I don't think I should be doing any "revenge" or anything... wonder if he still works for the company...

whats the best way to get small dings and dents out? ive heard a few like putting some dry ice over it and it will pop out or heating up the spot with a hair dryer and putting ice over it and it will pop out.. someone somewhere said somethinga bout a crowbar and a mirror?

I dunno how to get dings out any other way except takin it to a body shop or using those kits they sell in stores..

Since we park our Lude on the Street, I'm setting up web cams to protect the car. So far, we've had 2 hit and runs ($550 total damage) and been egged 2 X (a very slight door ding on the drivers side). My Civic was hit over the weekend as well (I'm not fixing it though, it's a winter beater). Can't people control their fvcking cars?

I hope that nothing happens to the Lude, but if something does it's going to feel SOO GOOD to finally get 'em!!!!

But, I think I'll have to set up 2 cameras. One for wide shots and the other to get license plates.

Anyone have the camera sold on www.X10.com? Is that any good? You can get 3 cameras for $169.00.

cameras..that sounds like a great idea..although i have an indoor garage under my apartment complex where i park..so that doesn't help me very much

...plus i'm mostly concerned w/ the times when i'm parked out in public.. one of these days..i'm gonna stick a camera inside my car and have the damn thing rotate 360 degrees...then i'd like to see the bastards get away w/ anything!!
